Elementary Science: "Objects in the Sky"
Objects in the Sky explores the not only the object in our sky that are visible to the unaided eye, but also the planets and other elements that can be found in our solar system. The first section discusses features of clouds, the sun, comets, and meteoroids. The second section focuses on the eight planets in our solar system; their order and fundamental characteristics, dwarf planets, and asteroids.

Elementary Science: "Relationships in Space: The Earth, the Moon and the Sun"
Relationships in Space explores relationships between the earth, the sun and the moon. It identifies the important differences between the physical properties of the earth and moon; and explores the cycles of light and temperature that change the way we see and experience the sun and moon. Section One discusses the important differences between the physical properties of the Earth, the Sun and the moon. Section Two focuses on the reasons why the moon's appearance seems to be constantly changing and how the earth's relationship to the sun changes the seasons.

Elementary Science: "Universal Building Blocks"
Universal Building Blocks is the foundational course in a two-part chemistry set that precedes Chemical Reactions. It is intended for middle school or high school students and covers 1) atoms and their structures, 2) the Periodic Table and basic elements descriptions, and 3) how to combine basic elements together.

Secondary Science: "Chemical Reactions"
Chemical Reactions is the second in a two-part chemistry set that builds on part 1 "Universal Building Blocks". This tutorial 1) introduces chemical reactions and chemical equations, 2) identifies the residual evidences that chemical reactions leave behind, 3) illustrates the different types of chemical reactions, and 4) introduces how to analyze and balance chemical reactions.

Secondary Social Studies: "America in the Cold War"
America in the Cold war reviews the role of the United States in the early years of the Cold War. The specific topics covered are 1) the formation of the UN and the origins of the Cold War, 2) the Berlin Blockade and the economic and military relief of Europe after World War II as embodied by the Marshall Plan and the formation of NATO, and 3) the communist aggression in Asia that led to the Korean conflict in the 1950s.

Coming this 2008
During 2008 Region 10 will be developing these exciting new tutorials:
- America in the Cold War, Part 2,
- Critical Thinking Skills,
- Academic Vocabulary,
- Writing: The Extreme Makeover, and
- Mathematics and Measurements
As you can see this year we are concentrating on cognitive academic skills that will focus on how to figure out complex ideas, how to polish your reports and papers, how to strengthen your word power, and how to approach those pesky math problems. And, we'll be finishing up the Cold War series from the end of the Korean War to the fall of the Berlin wall.
These new tutorials are scheduled to be ready to go by August 1, 2008.
